Achievements

AWIN’s main contributions and years of experience is built on current achievements and lessons learned; and employed flexible strategies within the humanitarian relief, development and peace nexus. It aligns and contributes to AWIN Strategic Plan (2022-2026) Towards achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development – leaving no one behind.

AWIN works to strengthen Women’s Rights to health, protection and leadership by mobilizing women groups, and assisted the establishment of Women Associations and Aspired Women
Enterprises for Unity of South Sudan (AWENTUSS) in Juba supported under Gender Equality and empowerment programs.

AWIN has a long history of implementing gender equality protection and human rights, peace building in South Sudan.

Our advocacy on UNSCR 1325 in Greater Equatoria and Greater Upper Nile have increased participation of women, men, boys and girls in peace and community reconciliation processes and established three Community Protection Committees [CPC] who act as community policing and watchdogs which has strong relationship and between police and civil population.

With Ongoing partnership with CSRF on Conflict Sensitivity programming mentorship programme contribute to addressing conflict sensitivity risks and opportunities under the thematic area of Localization, Returns and resettlement, Aid and the state, and Resilience in greater Upper Nile
region.

Ongoing local partnership with CIDA in Training State Level Authorities on Gender Transformation and Human Rights Based Approaches in 09 states and 02 Administrative Areas of South Sudan

Mapping of youth structures, political commitment, and extent of the youth mobilization in the 09 states and 02 administrative areas to facilitate selection of the states and administrative area in which the implementation of the National Youth Peace and Security Strategy will be piloted.

Established 12 GBV Schools Clubs in Eastern, Central and Western Equatoria States supported CSRF Consortium partners.

Trained 58 teachers in 12 schools on GBV protection and prevention in schools setups. Under mapping of youth peace structures, political commitment, and extent of the youth mobilization in the 9 states and 2 administrative areas to facilitate selection of the states and administrative area in which the implementation of the National Youth Peace and Security Strategy will be piloted , here AWIN has mapped a total of 330 youth led and CSOs .

We have formed a four Youth Action Group to lead advocacy and community led peace building andpeace keeping in their greater Upper Nile region in south Sudan.

AWIN with support from Y-GLOBAL is also currently implementing Economic empowerment, psychosocial support advocacy programs on the rights of persons with disabilities and ensuring Inclusive society in Jur River and Wau county, Western Bahr el Ghazal state. 

AWIN in partnership with CSRF mentorship programme including building the capacities of the community volunteers of Greater Upper Nile in order to implement conflict sensitive programs and
design.
